This side hustle saw me through the next five years while I completed my Ph.D. When I started, I didn't know much about running a business, but today, I have five income streams. I bring in $142,000 a month from the Amazon business alone. Don't overcomplicate your productWhen I started my side hustle, I had major imposter syndrome. So before you begin any side hustle, ask yourself two key questions: What is the fundamental need that my product or service fulfills?

‘Mutt’ (2023)Stream it on Netflix. Vuk Lungulov-Klotz’s micro-budget New York drama is everything indie movies are supposed to be: keenly observed and modestly executed, telling us a story and showing us a world we don’t usually see in mainstream cinema. In this case, it’s the world of Feña (Lío Mehiel), a transgender man and a semi-desperate pseudo-hustler whose life goes momentarily topsy-turvy when he accidentally reconnects with a former boyfriend from before his transition. This is a small film, but a mighty one. ‘Unpregnant’ (2020)Stream it on Max.

Donald Trump Isn’t Funny Anymore - The New York Times

The person of whom I speak is, of course, Donald Trump. So when I came across a fledgling satirical magazine, Spy, that articulated precisely what I was thinking, I was smitten. In its inaugural issue, Spy named Mr. Trump one of the “10 Most Embarrassing New Yorkers,” noting his tackiness, his shady tactics as a landlord and his “hustler-on-his-best-behavior manner.” Yes! I joined the staff full-time in 1989 and we continued to chronicle Mr. Trump’s offenses against taste and decency. We came up with a slew of epithets for him, including the one that stuck, “short-fingered vulgarian.” Then, as now, Mr. Trump was thin-skinned, and obsessed with his press coverage.

Compared to the dour, dutiful sewing circle serving Katherine of Aragon at the British court, the French matriarchs were pistols. “Anne found herself in a world in which women could exercise power in strikingly different ways,” write Guy and Fox. Stereotyped by convention as a conniving hustler bent on building the Boleyn brand, Thomas is positioned more interestingly here as a kind of geopolitical Zelig. It would prove the right time to catch the eye of the strapping 34-year-old king. Henry had never before encountered a woman as dazzling as Anne, with her French flair and intellectual self-confidence.

CNN —It turns out that there is a heavy price for trying to steal votes, defaming defenseless election workers and invading the US Capitol to try to thwart a democratic transfer of presidential power. A lawyer for the two election workers vowed on CNN to pursue accountability “to the end of the Earth” in a damages trial. While Trump claims such cases are an example of a “witch hunt,” the judicial process is grinding slowly on. Yet no democracy would last long if it failed to respond to the alleged crimes committed by Trump and his acolytes after the 2020 election. Michael Gottlieb, an attorney for the election workers, said he expected that his clients would see restitution after a trial date for damages between November and February.

CNN —A federal judge has determined Rudy Giuliani forfeits the defamation lawsuit from two Georgia election workers against him, a decision that could lead to significant penalties for the former Donald Trump attorney. Giuliani has been struggling financially, buried under 2020 election legal proceedings, a new criminal case against him in Georgia related to efforts to overturn the election and other matters. He has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges in Georgia and has been released from jail on bond. As the leader of a diocese with its headquarters in New York’s capital, Bishop Hubbard was a political as well as a religious figure. In 2004, he was accused of having sexual relationships with several men and a street hustler decades earlier. An outside investigation he requested subsequently cleared him of sexual misconduct. He was informed in March that the Vatican had denied his request, he wrote on Tuesday. “I was encouraged to wait patiently and prayerfully and to continue to abstain from public ministry until seven civil lawsuits against me alleging sexual misconduct had been adjudicated,” he said.

Growing up, my parents believed money was hard to come by and that nobody likes their job. For instance, I had trouble saying "no" to work, worked myself to the point of exhaustion, and tended to stockpile funds so I would be ready for any lull. It took quite an adjustment for me not to feel obliged to work 40 hours a week, or that I needed to adhere to traditional working hours. I've also expanded how I make money through working on a book that I'll be self-publishing and starting an Etsy store selling stickers and stationery. For instance, some of my top values are increasing my own financial literacy, financial security, and opportunities to be creative and help others.

Ruto has also faced criticism for increasing allocations to his office and the deputy president's while cutting petrol subsidies. The proposals, contained in a draft law known as the finance bill, will be considered by parliament alongside the 2023-24 budget to be presented by the finance minister on Thursday. The president and his allies have defended the tax hikes, saying East Africa's economic powerhouse needs more revenue to avert a debt crisis and fund affordable housing projects. One man in Githunguri, who declined to give his name, defended the finance bill, saying Ruto was simply trying to leave his mark by constructing affordable housing. Fruit vendor John Nyaga, another Ruto voter, complained that the tax hikes would leave his customers with even less money to spend.

Side hustles may actually make employees better at their full time jobs, a 2021 study found. "They can have these positive, enriching experiences that carry forward into their full-time work," Sessions told podcast producer Charlotte Gartenberg of side hustlers. The perception of side gigs and those who have them has shifted in recent decades, Sessions told As We Work. "So when I say it can help your job, it will help your job to the extent that you can feel empowered by it," Sessions told the Journal.

A Redfin report found that 30% of Gen Zers owned homes at age 25 in 2022. Gen Zers were greeted by a stronger labor market as they established their careers. So how did Gen Z gain the competitive edge? It all comes down to a healthy labor market, Daryl Fairweather, the chief economist at Redfin, told Insider. "It has a lot to do with the timing of when Gen Z entered the labor market versus when millennials did," Fairweather said.
I've been working since I was 15 years old to put myself through school and fund my business ventures. I also have two jobs, so I'm not sure how Gen Z can be stereotyped as a lazy generation.
